And here I thought our evening, last night, was going to be a wash out. The clouds were dark and rain was spitting off and on. Then the clouds disappeared and it was a great evening. So all of us, including Dixie, got outside. Brandon and Hannah Garza, our neighbors, came over. OJ just loves Hannah. She really is the sweetest girl. And Brandon matches Max. They are rough, get dirty, play in the ditches, kind of kids. Last night was frisbee and playing fetch with Dixie. But Sam just on the spur-of-the-moment decided to help OJ up on our tiny bike. It has no training wheels, they were destroyed long ago. This was Luke's first little bike. The pedals are gone, now only two metal pegs remain. The seat is exposed padding, the chain is rusted through and through from years of no garage and exposure. But the boys all love this little bike. Sam practices wheelies. Luke and Max still ride on this tiny bike to do jumps and whatnot. Anyway, Sam on his own initiative decides to help OJ up on this little bike. She holds onto the handlebars and he pushes and steers her for like fifteen minutes. They were having a great time going round the yard and through the yard. It was really sweet to witness such an act of kindness. Few and far between as my boys get older. OJ's just one tough, independent cookie. Usually despises all acts of help and/or kindness. But bliss was captured on film. Amen.
