The kids are on their fall break, a four-day weekend. We were invited by Molly and her family to join them camping at the lake down the road. Having been cooped up in my post-new baby cocoon long enough we ventured forth. Fully aware my husband had other commitments most of the time. We opted not to sleep in a tent because of the whole new baby thing, and it getting down to forty degrees and no electricity, therefore no space heater thing.
Anyway I am so glad I went! Even if it was for a total of one day. We spent late afternoon until 10ish there on Thursday, and went back at 10 am to about 2ish on Friday. Cici, like all my children, has a LOVE-LOVE relationship with the outdoors. Frankly, she has no choice. Eight family members plus REALLY small house equals everyone is outside a lot. She has found peace being outdoors since she was born. But who isn't replenished by going outside, shaking off the inside funk and breathing in the gorgeous fall air and soaking up as much sunshine as mother nature hands to you?
My kids ran amok, caught frogs, fished or aided in fishing (my sister and bother-in-law are fanatics and fantastic at fishing) and played numerous outdoor games. Its hard sometimes for our clans to get along mainly because for the most part they are like siblings. Having lived a block from my sister for going on 8 years now, they have all grown up together, been in one anothers faces and business for all that time. Thursday was blissful. The kids got along, us adults chilled (me) or fished (everyone else). I'm so glad we went.
Chronicles of my family. Sort of like a family journal. All 8 of us. Jarrod and Kari (mom and dad)-married 11 years. Luke-12, Max-11 Sam-9, Olivia-6, Wyatt-4, Cicilia-1. It's Crazy.

How fun!! We have our camping adventure next weekend. In cabins, as I do not like tents. That's just me. Unless I can be on an air mattress, a high one to keep the creepy-crawlies away. This year, with new baby, tents are out, my rule. We will be thinking of you all while we fish and paddle boat.
