This non-recipe is courtesy of my mom, the genius! When she buys her yogurt (greek of course), she opens it when she gets home and adds the zest of a lemon and some splenda to sweeten. She then replaces the lid and uses as necessary. Now if you plan on using greek yogurt for something other than eating for breakfast with fruit, you may want to purchase two tubs, one for doctoring up and the other plain.
Breakfast Yogurt Parfait Delightfulness
1 cup of greek yogurt (prepared as above indicates)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries, partially thawed
small handful of walnuts, chopped
splenda, honey, or other sweetener
cinnamon!
Layer as follows:
Doctored yogurt
blueberries
walnuts
splenda and cinnamon
Side Note: I found Brown Cow Greek Yogurt at Wal-Mart and for a one cup serving it contains 23 grams of protein, which is a ton! Make sure you check your labels! Some are not as protein rich as this.
