Christmas Potluck and Bingo at my little country church

Max and Santa

Every year my church, St. Martins in Douglas, NE, holds its annual Christmas Potluck and Bingo Party.  Our church is so small it only has Sunday mass every second and fourth Sundays, and every first, third, and fifth Saturday evenings.  Isn't that quaint?  I think yes.

This Christmas Party is long awaited by my children.  There is always dessert galore and of course Santa comes to visit.  One of St. Leo's (our sister parish) parishioners, Mr. Malone always serves as Santa and he does a splendid job.  Every.  Year.
Santa hands out goody bags.  The kids get to ask for what they hope for from Santa.  We trim a Christmas tree for our church basement.  We get to mingle with our fellow parishioners.  Community is important in a church of our small size.
